Hope and Waiting

I wanted to share the encouragement that I received from these poignant and tactical teachings.  This has to do with "waiting".  In the Bible, waiting is often substituted with "hope".  Think of how God is working in your current circumstances to help you grow in a relationship with Him through waiting (hoping)...a job, a line, a restaurant, school to be over, a new marriage, a big decision, an illness...

Lamentations 3:22-25 says that God's faithfulness is great and blessed is that man who chooses to wait on the Lord.  Waiting should not be what comes after the process (i.e. anticipating what comes next and looking forward to what is ahead but should be an embracing of the current mercies that God allows us to participate in).  When we are waiting God is very busy.  Even when we are busy, God has not stopped dreaming about our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).

We don't need to focus on what we need to change in out life to be fully awake to what go is doing but look at the things that God is doing in the midst of the waiting...so that the waiting can truly become hoping.
